So Very Small

by Joe Cramer

So very small

Slammed up against the proverbial wall.

I forever feel as if I know nothing, nothing at all.

Yet I act as if I were ten feet tall.

I never know which way to go,

How much to share, or let my feelings show.

This much, this much I truly know

I must learn to go with the flow.

So small, so very small

I just don't know

Where this life will go.

I stand against the wall.

I know. Me too. Beautiful, Joe.

The contrast between how we feel and how we appear always fascinates me... if you look at yourself passing in a shop window for instance... you look so sure... and all the indecisiveness disappears... even our shadows are ten feet tall sometimes. Beuatiful expression of being up against the "proverbial wall"... wonderful coupling and use of that idea!
