intergalactic

by Mary Frances Spencer

itÂ’s mutual
gravitational
attraction
binding

celestial bodies
in clouds
a stellar mix

billions
spiral
some
sparkling visible
to the eye

the beholder
finds
the sweetest
star

and pulls
her through light years
across the empty black

to orbit
the here and now
whirling across
time
into space

to shine
forever

together

Author's Note: Trying to write a space love poem...inspired by recent posts! Hopefully this didn't come out too corny! MFS

sweet. my favorite parts are "the beholder finds the sweetest star" and of course the beginning! "it's mutual..."!
