Whence Time's Hand

by Joe Cramer

Whence Time's hand reaches forth and thusly strikes

Mine anguished heart from thee, for days on end.

I canst help but reminisce of delights

That force mine heart not to break, just to bend.

Forlorn love that Time has left now in vain

Surfeiting my loneliness yet to loss.

In you, there was so much promise, to gain

Being at your side, no matter the cost.

Time's movement keeps me distant, far away

Lost to myself again, in such mournful state.

Now that Time has left my life in decay

A lost love vanquished, and left to relate.

These misfortunes of Time, to have a choice,

Solitary anguish, naught in this voice.
