listening with full attention

by Jared Fladeland

when i listen to a conversation
i study every nuance.
i appreciate the smallest flick of annoyance,
every tender raise of the eyebrow,
the faint smile of arrogance.

i allow for it to affect me
and i spurt it back out.
seemingly random at times,
but always interesting.

and right now
i want to squeeze my hands around your little neck.

I too spend a lot of time observing the people around me. I really like this piece, Jared. Your writing always make it seem that you know me... crazy... Haha, good work sweetie! -Kat :)
