The Clever Camel

by Dave Fitzgerald

There was a clever camel
Who was down in the dumps.
He only had three good legs,
The fourth one was a stump.

It was a disability
That made it hard to jump,
But he'd one thing going for him,
He had an extra hump!

He had up there a wooden leg
Hidden in that lump,
Which that crafty camel
Would fit upon his stump.

He could be heard from miles away
Because his leg would clump.
So he found a nice soft slipper
To dampen down the thump.

I love this! I would LOVE to read it to my grandson if I had some cutesie illustrations (he's only three, so pictures are a must, lol) and of course the slipper would have to be something significant to him... sure wish I were a better sketcher, I'd fix it up myself for him. My pick for POTD. *_*
