carezza by Maria Massarellacarezza
inondi
le rive
della mia mente
sfiori
la mia anima
con quello
sguardo
grigio-azzuro
come il
mare allalba
lanci
unocchiata
di luce
ed io
mi vesto di te
*
caress
you inundate
the shores
of my mind
brush
my soul
with a
grey-azure
glance
like the sea
at dawn
cast
an eyefull
of light
and i
dress myself of you

Posted by Brian Francis on 12/01/07 at 05:13 PM I spent five minutes mentally translating from the Italian before I realized the translation was right below. Hmmm. It was a nice exercise in remembering what I'd learned thirty years ago and have never used since `til today. Oh and nice piece of writing too. Peace always --bf |
Posted by Laura Doom on 12/10/07 at 08:43 PM Reading this (native-tongued version first), has confirmed to me that poetry is as much a 'feeling' experience as it is an intellectual one, even with (or perhaps especially with) little knowledge of the meaning in which the poem is dressed. So, what is this doing in the 'Least Read' category?!
[La mia anima is a delicious rendition of 'my soul' :] |
