Whispering Sonnets

by Joe Cramer

Come, and be with me always, my true love.

Fair, soft, like a thousand fields of flowers.

Stay with me my love, and let me but prove

My devotion, in so many hours.

Seeing you my love, in early days of Spring

Where we sit beneath lofty oaken trees

Brings joy anew, as our reeling thoughts fling

To happines untold, if just to please.

Come, stay with me my love, hold me so close,

Softly, sweetly, while our love is but young.

It is your heart that I treasure the most

Whispering sonnets from my weary tongue.

Being with you my love, my desire

My love for you burns, now set on fire.
