a dog knows

by Charlie Morgan

odie grabs his spot, gazes.
his Heaven: not another dog
within view, chew toy-idle.

he watches all the spirits
as they go though motions
of life everafter, etheral.

i plop my bones beside him,
give the otherworlders time
to find another comfy spot.

odie's eyeing me, caretaker
of both worlds and in beteen.
he yawns, all is to be well.
