Thankful Because I know by Charles M HarrisonWe shall gather at this time,
with family and friends.
To celebrate with thankfulness
as this year of our lives ends.
We will share the good times
of happiness, joy and pleasure.
Together to reflect and relive
each moment that we treasure.
For all the good we should give
thanks to our God of love.
Who has showered us all
with his great blessing from above.
Yet in the world around us
we see the evil that is there.
When it seems that people
have lost the urge to care.
What is done one to another
with no guilt or shame.
It seems all acts of love
and kindness are in vane.
Each hour, each day, each year
the world sinks further down.
Into all manners of vile
wickedness that can be found.
Those who believe are persecuted,
scorned and criticized,
And told there faith is based
on a book of fables and lies.
For all the evil that is about
we should give our thanks too.
Because we know that God
does what he says he will do.
When all in this would
can seem to get no worse.
When each breath we take
is not a blessing but a curse.
He who shed his blood for us
will then return again.
To call to judgment
all the sons of men.
That is why as I gather
with my family and friends
To celebrate with thankfulness
as this year of our lives ends.
I am thankful for the world
and it's present state.
Because I know God's word is true
and I won't have long to wait.

Great write and just in time for Thanksgiving.
Yes, we have more to be thankful for and more than we realize. Count your Blessings.
Good will always win out over Evil. |
