It is not always the leaves
that litter beneath

Fall into them
and they respond

Makes you feel alive
until the hard

reaches up to greet

It will be months
before reality
smacks you in the face

and you are homeless

Our entire life is simply working hard towards something. Some people expect it to be over once a degree is achieved, but no. Life is hard
