What I think

And what I know

Remain vastly different.

I try to show

My feelings for you.

You remain indifferent

I never know what to do.

What I see

And what I feel

Always remains for me

So unreal.

In the waiting

And in my life

I am forever confronted

With this self-same strife.

That which I hear

That which you do not say

Ends up as so many words

That simply get in the way.

What I think

Is not what I know.
