candle

by Mary Frances Spencer

sometimes i burn
time in velvet night
space dissolves
light flickers
i shift shapes
a candle
of melting wax
softly
blurring
liquid stirring
i fall
into the
scorching
and the
beautiful

I like the sensual imagery of this - actually I have been browsing your newly-built library and I like your use of language and imagery, and even though I'm not generally a fan of "centered" poetry, with yours it actually seems to work, especially the "object" poems like this one - suggests a "concrete" structure - well-done! d:-)
