Trials by Brian Francis
I have fought against the flow
and struggled hard and long
weaknesses have assaulted me
and tears have fallen in streams
betrayals were visited upon me
and anger has blinded my sight
I have swam a raging tide
As it carried me away
shame enough for two full lives
has swelled from within my being
and my heart has felt the tightness
of grief of loss of sorrow
But
when I am low enough to cry
when in my heart I breathe a sigh
I think of Him in love and praise
He is my hope in weary days

Posted by Rowan Luis on 11/15/07 at 01:31 PM wow, this really hit me in the heart, powerful stuff. i especially like "tears have fallen in streams". Actually the whole poem kind of reads like a river, or a stream |
