net

by Mary Frances Spencer

the glue
that holds us all
together
is sticky
elastic
stretching around this
world
and into the next
like a net
we are caught
in a tangle of oxygen
sunlight
energy
we are fish
flopping on the sand
choking on anxiety
drying out in the dust
of desire
coughing consumption
dangling from
such rigid hooks
eyes bulging
video electric
scales once iridescent
falling away
in bits

submerge within
let go
flow with
current
surrender
stretch the boundary
swim in truth
then
only then
can we really breathe

Yes. Vital, and "sticky elastic" imagery that gets us "swim"ming in truth". Love the "net" image.

Hi Mary, Yes, indeed. A different way at looking at or for the truth through a net, glue and sunlight and fish. Good imagery.

I want some of what you are smoking, eating or drinking. As I use to say many years ago, "Far Out Man"! Fish Heads, Fish Heads, roly poly Fish Heads...
