a flower grows where the world explodes by Matthew Sharpyour thoughts crossed my mind
after the amnesia from gazing fades
sight through burnt eyelids
they'll grow back
distraught insomniac
watching for the alert hammer
to smash my fingers
and go buy band-aids and clothes
in the future
a flower grows where the world explodes
i'll sit still for you there
adapting to whats next
before it does me 11/12/2007 Posted on 11/13/2007 Copyright © 2024 Matthew Sharp

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 11/13/07 at 05:50 AM Do you like it when someone else's thoughts cross your mind? I sometimes find it a bit intrusive. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 11/13/07 at 06:29 PM Amazing...and especially for a carpenter... that "hammer" does not easily "smash" "fingers"--it must be some intensely wondrous "flower" that has planted its seed in your "exlodes"! |
