america lives- america dies

by Charlie Morgan

america dies with each drive-by.
clues abound, nothing but sounds;

lives lost in a dream-caravan,
only to be grasped in reality's clutch,
end up on church stoop-steps.

next generation and the next,
align themselves like castle parapets;
look down like a mean teacher.

america lives with scratched knees,
busted dreams and broken hearts.

Britain seems to be going the same way sadly. Great write Charlie.

You have expressed soberly, somberly the plight of America. With all the good that is going on the bad is dragging America down. Needed a genuine spiritual revival as in the end of the 19th century.
