america lives- america dies
by Charlie Morganamerica dies with each drive-by.
clues abound, nothing but sounds;
lives lost in a dream-caravan,
only to be grasped in reality's clutch,
end up on church stoop-steps.
next generation and the next,
align themselves like castle parapets;
look down like a mean teacher.
america lives with scratched knees,
busted dreams and broken hearts.
