Death of Tragedy by Christopher ShinThe moon shines with
a shadow that seems
so silent in my mind.
As the words you said
barely pierce my empty
corners of my heart.
I catch my own reflection,
and look away in disgust.
Yet your tragedy and sadness
falls like broken glass.
So I try and tell you
that dreams are gone,
and fueled by our lives.
Yet you close your eyes,
and the blood in your
soul streams out with
toxic quickness.
You let the world control
you and let the city
destroy your hopes.
All I can do is defiantly
glare at the chalky cheeks,
and the farewell that won't come.
So the bottle is almost empty,
and I'm slowly drowning
in my own way of saying goodbye. 11/11/2007 Posted on 11/11/2007 Copyright © 2024 Christopher Shin
