resonant beauty

by Mary Frances Spencer

can beauty
be felt?
not visual
symmetrical
magazine-cover
shiny surface
slick
eye-candy
beautiful
i'm talking about
the resonance
the radiant color
actual vibration
that goes into
the gut
it's painfully raw
shockingly
unusual
the rainbow
of emotions
swirling together
mixing into us
chemically
yes
i know
how it feels
deep and pure
i will
open my heart
and
see...

Author's Note: I think the media tries to force-feed us an ideal of beauty. To me it's a person's radiant energy, something that is felt not seen. MFS

yes, that's what I love... in our poetic world--our workshops... we are so rich in this radiant quality... and... here at this site--the glow does not come from the computer screen... it's radiant chemistry! yes.

You've described the essence of beauty amazingly well. For the most part, beauty is not seen, it's sensed.

That kind of beauty spills right back out into the atmosphere, becomes a conduit for itself and others, inspires and incites. This is lovely!!!

I feel you, very nicely written and expressed. Real beauty is felt and is emotional, thanks for the write. smh

I would have to agree that beauty, true beauty comes from within...radiating out from the soul.. aloha..;-0
