a poison by David Garnera poison came in you again
why do you react so harshly?
like when you cried
dont do this to me
or running out on me in that restaurant
now you leave incoherent messages on my machine
and e-mail me strange words that arent even thoughts yet?
a poison came in you again
why do you react so harshly? 11/09/2007 Posted on 11/09/2007 Copyright © 2024 David Garner

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 11/09/07 at 08:46 PM the halting feeling of this well amplifies the context. "poison came in you again" is a very interesting way of putting this, it seems to take away the guilt--in that it has come rather than being created in and by the person. Also "come in you" can mean -in the person of you" to me... so it speaks of the effect on you too. yes.. "harshly"--and the restaurant episode gives an immediacy. sad. |
