Starbucks at 7 by Alison McKenzieLetÂ’s meet for coffee
Some crisp autumn day,
Just before the winter sky
Releases frozen accolades of wonder.
I will bring my mug
And you will read me your poetry.
And I will, chin in hand,
Sigh in adoration's happy glow.

Author's Note: For all of the most amazing poets this side of paradise, but For Norm Milliken especially. Wishing I was closer to everyone.

Posted by Genevieve Sturrock on 11/09/07 at 10:02 PM you know, i was just thinking it would be great to share a cup of coffee with you...and we could both listen, enraptured, to norm's wonderful words. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 12/01/07 at 03:50 PM I love the "frozen accolades of wonder"! (snow like applause?) and I feel the same way about Norm's poetry! (and yours too) Yes, we should meet...we are lucky here in Pasadena--and do it every week at least, sometimes several! This is the best place to meet (and be a poet)! |
