I Never Meant To

by Harold Millican

There was a time when I was content. Never a moment wasted, time well spent.
But then I realized things that were not meant to be...
I never meant to be different, yet the same, and I really am not the one
to take the blame

For all of your pain
I say sorry
I wish that people saw the good in me
But then I contemplate
and then my mind disintegrates
I hear a voice of you
The people who hate me, you're included too

You always have wondered why, what you do just makes me cry inside
Since then I've been afraid to give my heart to anything that anybody else stars

I really am tired of trying to blend... now on no one I can depend
I give my all to a friend, but even in the end
He or she stabs me now
In the back forever now

Can I mend the broken hearts
Just asking for another chance
I never knew that love or compassion was this hard

I never meant to...
never meant
to hurt you...

I am right there with you, feeling your pain, feeling your grief, asking the same questions. Very wonderful piece. -Nanette

What a piece! I think that we can all say your last lines and mean them with every ounce of our souls; a wonderful write.
