The Once A Month Club

by Joe Cramer

So I have joined the "once a month club"

Not a group I wanted to frequent,

And barely knew about, though I read about it

In a magazine, once, I think maybe "Cosmo?"

I'm more of the every other day garden variety type

Which means I'm left scrambling, even more than before.

Is this to be my fate, is this now my life?

I think about what I should do, how I should act,

What new and innovative concepts I can develop.

Instead of mirth and merriment I have melancholy,

More of a Sisyphus and the proverbial rock.

At least he had a purpose, I still can't find my way.

Guess I'll keep rolling onward, until I come

To find the fruits of my labor of love.

Author's Note: I was writing a long email to a friend, this is the result of my frustrations....
