when the beholder is i

by Maria Massarella

To the authors of an

                                          'I love you'

Enslaved a Father's
heart lingers in spaces where complaisant
fingertips have inked with Angels' quill
fragrant an 'I Love You' in a sea of
dust asparkle
His eyes graze ad continuum
this touch of sfumato - love's artistry
golden its
spiral
oh
!

Michelangelo's brush can
naught compare - Da Vinci
would
resurrect his Gioconda to capture again the
mystery revelling
in her smile
Si! yes ...
There in between the letters
canvas'd to the lush-dust in breaths of eden
your Father sips this joyfilled elixir
in paternal bliss beholds each dormant
particle ablossom
lotus life's kiss
Si! yes ...

In his eyes wonderstars gemini
Distance evanesces as his spirit embraces
the splendour of yours

Today
he beams the light of a
thousand suns - melodies
the universe

Maria, no words can adequately express the artistry you possess in combining music, art, and the heavenly Father to make a poem that is about love. Simply lovely. Again, I am transported into the gentleness of your spirit and I am at peace with my world.
