Yes, ... I saw you

by Steven Craig

Yes...

I saw you,

rushing out the door,

on your way to the floor

and the noise

and the rush

and all the things

that make your job

so important

to all those that depend

on you...

Yes, ...

I saw you...

and I smiled,

and knew that

you were out there

doing your very best

to help

and heal

and to make comfortable

those that need it

so very much.

Yes, ...

I saw you...

and I hoped

that once each hour

you will take a moment

to stop

and collect yourself

and take in a deep breath

and feel yourself being alive

despite the turmoil

and the pain.

Yes, ...

I saw you...

and wanted to see you

take that moment

and inwardly turn

and see the flowers

in the fields

and the snows

on the mountains

and the foam

on the surf

and the long shadows cast

by the last afternoon sun.

Yes, ...

I saw you ...

and there on your face

was a drying streak

of a tear

and a hint of a smile

and a fire

being re-kindled

in your eyes

and I felt the warmth

of it reach me

even at the distance.

Yes, ...

I saw you ...

there ...

just a moment ago ...

and off you rushed

into life

and all that awaits you

and holds your future

in its grasp,

a grasp that you

will gently open

and release all

that you will be

for all the tomorrow’s

that will be.

Yes, ...

I saw you ....

Ahhh, a lovely, quiet voice in the midst of all that is hectic and necessary and wonderful. This was a joy to read, and for whomever inspired it, blessings to all they give.

Touching on so many levels.
