Blooming

by Gira Bryant

your fingers trace fire
across my skin
it builds and builds
heat, intensity, combustion
matter being consumed
transformed

i am the parched earth.
you find the one lone
water filled cactus
squeeze until it bursts
drenching, wet, drenching

i am me with you
you are there
there, you stroke
here, you caress
the glare from the sun
blinds me
inside i weep
weep release, as the
clouds weep release
as the ocean weeps
release

freedom is where ever i am
yes, but with you
freedom means so much more

i writhe, i aspire
i whisper to you,
only you
i plead, i beg,
i slither
i am consumed
and sated, consume
again

i am on top of you
i am pressed
against your thigh
breast to breast
my skin evaporates
itÂ’s just me left
these circles i grind
into your flesh
only me

you are so
patient
you always wait
while i come again
yet again
you watch with hungry eyes

we are a circle and the
world runs through us
around us
between us
i am in you
you are in me
we move, together
and you become
my prayer and its
answer, totality
we push and shove
rock and moan
and there, between
our breath
it lies ripe
to blooming
