Sunlight Wings

by Christopher Shin

When love seems
so vague and confusing,
I don't understand
the world around me.

The bleeding in my soul,
doesn't compare to
the ideals I have set.
Yet wings flutter
around me with molted
heavens.

My breath tries to
drain the last
moment of our deepest
desires.

But my wings can
only go so far,
and the cage binds
my thoughts.

Lyrics blend well
with words I can't
seem to say,
but you say them
so well.

So I'll take the words
you gave me,
and the soul you
transplanted in me.

With fake smiles,
and fake hopes I'll
do the world justice
in your eyes.

So let me flutter
and fly in tapard
wings.
