Command I. by Richard FishBefore there was you there was me.
For quite a few years, I would be
walking and talking and living
first. But you would beat me on giving
long before I realised I had to
do the same. It is true,
I am afraid. But now I will try
to catch you up. Why?
I have realised that it is right.
I have realised that it might
be the only place my heart
can truly find satisfaction. I'll start
with those right next to me,
and eventually I will get to every
person in the world. They all
deserve love. All. 10/22/2007 Posted on 10/22/2007 Copyright © 2025 Richard Fish

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/23/07 at 01:16 AM Reminds me of Jesus' words, "Love your neighbor as yourself." And when asked to define neighbor he told the story of the Good Samaritan. You've expressed cogently a godly command. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 10/23/07 at 06:57 PM wonderful. this is how love catches us, shakes us up and spills us out. and we are overcome with it. that passionate overspilling the essence of deeply satsifying creative existence. |
