i'm surrounded by you.

by Aaron Michael

if i could say one thing
and have it stick like a dream
in the back of your mind
to haunt you with deja vu
sometime in the future when you've
all but forgotten me

i wouldn't

living with yourself is punishment enough.

i'm torn between killing you
to put us out of your misery
and not being able to
make the hammer fall
because i pity you so deeply.

stupidity is a virus and you are
that little fuckmonkey from outbreak
threatening the world
when all you want to do
is sling your shit
and play in trees.

innocence mixed with ignorance
spiced with stupid and
a deity's ego make me
speechless in spite of
everything i could tell you
to make it stop.

god help me for not having the heart
to slap you smart.

I have been with people who have made me feel like this and damn, it's frustrating.

Yikes.

this is brilliant...brilliant...every word. My jaw dropped somewhere in the middle of the first stanza...hit the floor by the end of it and I'm just picking it up now....if that makes any kind of sense. I've been journeying through your posted works here and overall am really enjoying your wit...

Oh how I've wanted to have the mox to slap somebody smart. What helps me calm down is finding a poem like this. Especially this to the monster: "living with yourself is punishment enough."

I stand in your corner.

Wow. This is powerful. I loved every word of it.

Some people confuse evil with their own trivial lusts and perversions, but real evil, true evil, is as pure as innocence.
