When I Come Home

by Charles M Harrison

Weary as I may be
there is life still in me.
Beaten and broken down
I struggle to gain ground.
By storms I may be battered
my dreams torn and shattered.
Still I journey on
for I will make it home.
I have a force within
that guides me to the end.
It will not let me falter
if my course I do not alter.
I know what does await
what is to be my fate.
Faith in my one guide
who walks by my side.
With him I place my feet
until the journey is complete.
All shall gather then
who I call family and friend.
With God who guides me on
until I at last come home.
