the ways I want you by Gira Bryantthey haven't invented yet
all the ways I want you
they haven't made all
those words to express
that one singular burning
feeling, so deep in my womb
they haven't told me yet
how to say it in words
so I fumble
passion rages, deeper than
words or thought or even emotion
it swells and rumbles, tumbles
falls and bursts, explodes, roars
it breaks, this wave, upon
the vulnerable shore of my flesh
and I welcome it again and
again, with outstretched arms
head thrown back, as if
this moment is everything
I carry you with me, just
everywhere, lodged deep within
sitting there, curled, on my
pelvis, reaching here and there
with greedy sticky fingers, like
a child reaching for candy
If I said I -
want you bent over the bed
want to curl up underneath you
want your lips for swollen kisses,
- beneath the full moon
want to wrap my legs around your waist
- as you press into me firmly
want your yew-lashes to flutter against my cheek
want to hurt you
want you on your hands and knees in front of me
want to slide my tongue over every inch of you
want you to push me into the wall and take it
want to bind you tightly, so tight, immobile
want you to taste me slowly, like that
want to slide my mouth and lips onto you, sucking you
want you to bend me over the kitchen counter
want to slather you with warm oil
want you to touch me softly, for hours
want to slide to my knees and rest my cheek
- against your feet
want you to bruise my lips with your kisses,
- berate them with your teeth
want to take your ass, again and again
want you to fight me, and win
want to give it to you
all of that would only be the beginning
