Lightgazer

by Maria Massarella

it uniquens the vision
this macular dystrophia that
inhabits my retina

like crescents of mooncraters
veiled in mystic
myopia

stargazereyes
behold midnight choreography
of pure lunaheart

illumined soft melodies
diffuse everwonder
ashimmer adance

petal-flames blossom
flower the candle’s light
golden tongues

open lotus magnificence
in a crown of soul-singing
light

Sometimes eye issues give us a different picture of the world both inside and out. Your words develop that picture very well. Nice write.

There is a reason for everything in life.. sometimes they are apparent, and at other times, what may initially appear to be a stumbling block turns out to be one of God's biggest blessings. I know as I have experienced this plenty. Aloha to you, my friend across land and sea.. alisa ;-)

Reminds me of the cliche, "When given lemons make lemonade". You've turned a disheartening disability into wonder, seeing beyond the natural, seeing by the mind, by the spirit.

feels like a dance in a secret garden with a thousand genius fairies. some of the word meshing and such going on in this poem truly give it a fantasy edge. very whimsical and dreamy.
