them?

by Charlie Morgan

was i them?, i mean back then?
absent a brain, morals, goals.

maybe a tuesday but not all week;
didn't i come up for air?

they're drowning in ignorance;
flail happily while sinking.

old folks are spinning in their graves;
lincoln, now just an automobile. who, again?

history gets lost on us while living it.
the past (to them) has passed.

so, to worry is an adult concern
and not to worry, a youth's playground.

Chaz, you are something else. I mean, how many times have I thought this? And I'm sure every generations has the same thoughts and will until time stops.
