"Forget You Never"

by Max Phineas

To keep this a secret
is a Painshield most strong
But bares a new pain within.

A secret divulged
Is a vulnerability granted
To those who peer through my eyes.

They tell me to forget.
but I wonder if they've considered...

If love was a choice
Do you think I'd choose this state of being?

...But then she walks by again, and I know.

No contest.

Man, that last line is just perfect.

Your poetry only gets better and more intense. These words are bittersweet and although I don't know what they're really about, they brought tears to my eyes thinking about events in my life where these words apply. You are such an amazing poet. I love your work.

This is really sweet. I feel your pain, but the word that came to me was sweet. Haha, sorry I'm not full of good words today. Good job!

Intense, full of the ambiguity of life's choices.
