October

by Sarah Boom

Tell me darling
What is there left to say
When I've given it all to you
And I feel I've given myself away...

Another lonely October morn
The weather isn't all thats cold
The words you say, so hateful, so unkind
I gasp, I'm taken aback
For who knew you could be so bold...

Tears fill my hazel eyes
And I try to blink them away
But here you go bombarding me again
With these spiteful things that you say...

And we both know, the time will come
For me to walk out the door
Then, You'll begin to change your tune again
Telling me you love me once more...

So there I stand
In the doorway to a world of misunderstanding
A world, of lies and deceit
And the only thing I'm certain of anymore
Is no one's freedom, is free.

I agree with Jon. You have a very natural way about your writing that flows very smoothly.

I love the month of October and have waxed poetically on it for ages...this poem gives the month and emotional turmoil a whole new meaning and does it beautifully. Congratulations on being POTD!
