Going Bust

by Sarah Boom

Everybody's dreams are going bust
Lying on the ground, in a mound of dust
This Dream sequence is fading fast
No one knows how to make it last...
Skeptics Voice their own opinions
While the true believers lie low, and quiver
We all know what it is we want
What we don't know, is how to have it delivered.
Everyone wants to believe in destiny
But no one makes their own
Everyone just sits and waits
Watching as the sand in the hourglass slows.
People fear their hearts desire
And second guess themselves
And slowly their passion fire
Becomes nothing, if not disheveled
Slowly fading into a depression
That god himself see's difficult to raise
Sitting in a vat of self pity
Praying to sleep soon in that eternal blaze
The hourglass has turned again
And yet, time is fading fast
You've been given one last chance
But, have you learned yet, from your past?
