Root 3 Words

by Eric Seligmann

Look up to the stars at night
To see what I can see
All I can see is your eyes
Smiling down on me
Bathe in the sun
To feel what I can feel
I learn what I feel is real

Some say love's a virtue
I try alone
When I say, "God bless you"
I know I'm home

Root 3 words
Down into the dirts
Of impurity
Purify
Don't leave me stuck in a tree
Bring me to my knees

Some say love's a virtue
I try alone
When I say, "God bless you"
I know I'm home

Love me from the inside
Shadow me from the outside
See a smile break the silence
To convince everything’s
Gonna be alright
I think I see it bright
I think I see a light

I'm on my knees again
Root 3 words
I think I see a light

Look up to the stars at night
To see what I can see
I view upon your pretty face
Smilin down on me
Bathe in the sun
To feel what I can feel
I feel real, I feel this is real

Some say love's a virtue
I try alone
When I say, "God bless you"
I know I'm home
I'm on my knees again
Root 3 words
I'm on my knees again
You bring me to my knees
Root 3 words
Root these 3 words

This poem is beautiful from the first time I read it in 1999, til this day. Those 3 words have been rooted always.
