Watchers: One Each: Pair/box: Color - Yellow: Curious. by Timothy SomersTable 17.)
Sideways glances,
awareness slightly,
just politely hidden.
Secret chances
shifting gaze around
the room, radar back
alive in bloom.
New romances
promise bidden
by the quiet death
together.
Half wanting to be caught,
admission that its not
the way they thought.
Now the word relationship
sounds flat between
themselves.
Survey the rooms
tide of prospects
flowing through
the tables maze
of popularity,
chance to see
an eyebrow raised,
a look appraised
for future viability.
Time abrades them loose.
Table 3.)
Solitary sight of
desperation.
Companion,
Imaginary.
Feigning ease,
while hiding in
a menu left without
the faintest trace of
warmth to stay the
nights disease of
loneliness.
Furtive envy glances
towards supposed and
hungry chances for
a dinner, and discovery
of more love than one
can eat alone.
The soul has left for home.
Window Booth.)
Placed unknowing
by the staff, immersed
in separate distaff
sight of one another
only.
Beacon to the
lonely on the street
to come inside,
reside in couples,
pairs, to ignore stares
of outside judgments
of their lack of sight,
or plight together in
the world.
Sisters known below the skin.
Table 7.)
Eyes of Watcher
watching watchers watch,
and caring more
than half enough,
and having more
than half enough,
a heart to fill
up half enough
for all the busy
watchers and their
watching
at their watch.
Stolen menu filled with notes.
