Diffident Dreams

by Joe Cramer

I am dimpled with diffident dreams

That wake me in the midst of my screams.

While searching my soul for a way out

All I am left with is to scream or shout.

My preminitory systems of both hot and cold

In the morning's long lasting shower

Leave me with thoughts, not too bold

And a countenance that all but does scower.

My mind is nothing more than a muddy puddle

In which the midst of my thoughts do muddle.

My diffident dreams leave me so very tired

As I reflect on all things that have transpired.
