a local service station, owned by Turnip Green;
sign proudly exclaiming: flats fixt.
free water for a starving radiator;
free air for tires tired of rolling.
teeth in a glass, " 'cause they hurt."
smiling toothless--Turnip Green says.
the bubble stretches but stops.
the city limits sign, a guard.

Paige White on 06/23/10 at 01:52 AM Got to echo Dave's chuckle and add my today's "country road" sign on the two armed entrance to the paid hospital parking, both striped arms straight up in surrender and nary a soul in the booth to either hand out the tickets or take any toll. Homemade sign taped up over the professionally done, time allotment/price sign:
