solitary air

by Peter Humphreys

when
we
walk
where
willows
weep
we
know
o yes
we know
why
when
so many
years
ago
we waited
where
we nearly died
as waning
waters flow
and
white
whisps
drift
as weary
wings
upon
the weft
and
wondrous air
her womanhood
wove
two
bodies deep
I
wept
upon
this
solitary
air

Lyrical, loving, with imagery interwoven in the loom of the air... both songful and full of breath's remembrance.
