Animal Kingdom, This Life
by Olivia Weinkeinthere are people who want to try to change
the best parts of
you
bend them into something a little more
subtle
something they can
grip onto.
they are afraid of the violence of
nature, the way it can bleed
when you least expect it.
and always, always of the hunger.
the way it can tear through
everything.
i am not one of them. just so
you know.
i only want a kind smile
and a warm body
in my bed.
