I'm Here

by Alisa Js

I need a man who understands my pain
And anguish of heartbreaks and burdens,
Someone who gets me and can be the strong one
On those days when I’m as weak as a lamb ...

Like today, I wish he were here to comfort
To wrap his strong arms all around
And tell me it’s going to be ok
That somehow we’ll get through this
Someone who is real from the heart ...

I am fragile and sometimes feel so very helpless
and need reassurance
On those days when the world comes crashing down
Where is my man when I need him right here
Why am I standing alone in this crowd?

I have been there for those in my life
A rock to support and decry
Against all manners of evil and unfathomable sins
Gangsters and hoodlums rage ‘round
Where is my knight when I need him, like right now
One who will tenderly smile
And wipe away these tears with his kisses, sweet...

I wonder and wander this great expanse
Maybe one day when the universe smiles
He will appear
God knows I’m ready
Willing and able
He knows my address,
I’m here ...

I hear your frustration strong and an almost suicidal ending. Both haunting yet I see hope as well. Thanks Alisa.
