Full Circle

by Alisa Js

she writes of love, endlessly
pours out her heart on each page,
dripping red ...

they laugh at her pain, hilariously
smirk on their faces, scheming
prancing around each impassioned nuance
she's just a band-aid at best,
doesn't she get it, yet?

oblivious, they're sure
of those caustic remarks
snickering, they fall down in glee
'look at that lovelorn pitiful thing'
with her head in the clouds of 'one day'
so certain, she's none the wiser ...

meanwhile, a true heart is waiting
counting the days, until
that glorious time when destiny smiles
and together, they'll be
more than a dream
so certain of this,
his everything ...

Author's Note: As a romantic soul, I believe when true love is real, it never dies.... Regardless of what certain naysayers may say as love is pure and divine...
