She Drank

by Joe Cramer

She drank

Until her breath stank.

My heart felt rank.

I lied

I could have died

From the worry inside.

She drank more

As if it were a chore.

I am but a bore

In my sobriety.

What is to become of me

And your infidelity?

She drank again

Not knowing where to begin

Or that I was her friend.

She drinks way too much

And is out of touch

With such

Notions of sobriety,

Impropriety.

Imagine the crying in me.
