Day by Day

by Elizabeth Hoadley

a warm sunrise
for blinded eyes
lifting the sky
impasse to hide
thus
no time to haste
no room for hate

blissfully
too simple
too easy
keeping me
from destiny

those
jaded
memories

in old years
streamed with tears
lost to fears
angst would stear
but there is a way

the future is calm
holding us strong
evince our pathway
in this world
of day by day

how can we
get to the
next stone
if we are
afraid
and alone

step by step

lost myself
consumed with greed
cross with others
in radical
political
egotistical
controversey

where is
too simple
and
too easy
when out
of breath
as well as
weezy

now i see
blissfully

finding relief
in a belief
to better
my grief
i stay
for
the future is calm
keeping me strong
i walk its pathway
every day by day
