Summer Lavender Rain by Meagan Green
Finally, rain in September came.
Left the house smelling sweet
Summer lavender rain.
Left still with a feeling in my heart
Similar to the excitement of
New love and enriching pain.
"I love this song," I declared
Against the silence of car engine,
Burning engine, sick transmission,
Denial taking comfort in the
Treble and bass.
Little green car with windows
That no longer roll down,
Take me to work now, and this day
I will be smiling when I get there.
It's that smell in the air.
Scent of something to look forward to, invisible.
The sweet summer lavender rain
Finally came, I've been waiting
For so long, I missed this shade of pain.
My heart melts now and rests now,
For a thousand wishes I have made.
