Where Does Love Go?

by Tony Whitaker

Far away eyes
well-formed smile
naked bodies holding
but only the eyes
intimate

Staring into wondrous pools
a moment lives forever
in this cerebral sharing
of such lust
passioned lovers
wrestle as one

and when
itÂ’s over,

where does love go?

If it is love it doesn't go. It mellows like a fine wine. The passion just resting but not gone. The poem grows wistful over the years!

Hi Tony, Good one. It doesn't leave excastly. it still hangs around. Yes, into poems too.

love never dies... lust flames out in a heartbeat...lol

The key word here is "lust." Oh yes, there's a difference between love and sex. You point this out quite well. But then again, maybe the love has never been there or died.
