Break It Off by J. P. Daviestake that bottle girl
break it into sand
return to roots
and give it back again
if you never set your heart out
then you will never feel it break
but baby sometimes
that's just what it takes
I've often started running
when I felt the urge to stay
and I've often stayed to long
when it was best to walk away
but baby sometimes that's just what it takes
Get your head out of the space
take your body from this place
you know you should not be here
take the wind, let it blow
plant your roots and watch it grow
in the end we'll just break it off my dear
take that letter girl
and bury it
turn it back into a tree
you'll see
If you never put your head in
then you'll never lose your mind
but baby sometimes life's not that kind
I know you've often started crying
before you've felt the pain
I know you reach for your umbrella
when there's no sign of rain
but baby trust me I'm no longer that kind
Get your head out of the space
take your body from this place
you know you should not be here
take the wind, let it blow
plant your roots and watch it grow
in the end we'll just break it off my dear

Posted by Trisha De Gracia on 09/21/07 at 05:18 AM a beautiful start. Why do I feel like I know this girl? by the way, your poem to your father is great, I just didn't know quite how to say it. |
