The Place of Love

it's funny how the world smiles loud
as long as you sign the checks
pay the tab
supply the beer
keep those stomachs full,
show plenty of that cold, hard cash
they're all best friends,
empty fools!
then, came a day when all was dark
silence screamed and laughed,
people turned and walked away
lonely was my new name ...
yet, in the quiet of my valley stroll
a light peered through,
gathered by my heartstrings there
this melody soft and true,
these notes I knew and recognized
fell straight from heaven's skies
sweet harmony
from an angel's face
I found the place of love,
in you ...
