grey matter by Tricia Marie Miela thousand petals of sweat
rip through like lazy rain
crushing the blood beneath my breast
if only for a moment
my weakness and power are one
the girl I am is a goddess in her bed
a heedless wanton dreaming
of a man on the moon
visions like winter swim out to sea
time will run them over with the language of eternity
in sleep I will always recall
a whisper of a fiddle raw
from playing bittersweet symphonies
or how it felt to fall
and shadows elaborate why...
